Sinkovec commits to Boston College


Carmel High senior Jake Sinkovec has verbally committed to play football for Boston College next fall. Sinkovec, a 6'4" 215 lb defensive back was named to the class 7A All-State team by the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association for the 2008 season.

Cody O'Neill Named to All-State Team


Marian Catholic Central senior Cody O'Neill was named to the All-State team by the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association. O'Neill, a 6'3" 295 lb offensive lineman is still undecided as to what college he will be attending next fall. Schools such as: UW-Madison, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Georgia, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Miami of Ohio, and Ball State have shown an interst in Cody. He has a current Rivals.com ranking of 24.

Football Results

Ross Wiemer had 21 carries for 154 yards and a touchdown leading Valparaiso University to a 47-14 victory over Campbell University.

Richmond-Burton defeated #1 ranked Geneseo by a final score of 20-0 in high school football playoff action to advance.

UW Whitewater defeated UW Platteville 52-13 and will begin playoff action next Saturday in defense of their national title.

High School Football Playoffs

Richmond-Burton defeated Genoa-Kingston 48-14 to advance to the quarterfinals where they will take on Geneseo.

Carmel high defeated Woodstock 10-7 to advance to the quarterfinals where they will go up against #1 ranked Geneva.
